Unsatisfied with Agape

I was initially impressed with Agape. The combination of immediate customer service and attractive price was the reason I went with Agape. From my experience Agape acts as a middle man, contracting out the work that they get to other carriers. When I was researching auto transport companies they assured me that they choose only the best carriers. I asked a series of questions about how my car would be treated, one of which was "will my car be switched from one truck to another?" The answer was "no", and if it had been "yes" or "maybe", I would not have chosen Agape. My car was picked up close to the scheduled time and the carried Agape used looked to be a very professional outfit. Unfortunately my car was transfered from one truck to another. In the process it was packed poorly and sustained moderate bumper damage during transport. The transport company that Agape used was PLYCAR and they are very apologetic and initially standing by their service (I will write another review of them after the situation is resolved, so far so good). I do not hold Agape responsible for the damage to my car directly, but I am disappointed that they either misrepresented their services or are unknowledgeable about what the contracted carriers do with cars during shipment. Needless to say I am a little upset that I spent $1300 to get my car transported in a covered carrier for protection and I will be spending a lot of time (and money) in local body shops.

First, to Mr. Justin Overbaugh, we would like to apologize on behalf of Plycon Transportation Group about the damage your vehicle sustained. And we are very confident that Plycon will do their part in taking responsibility for this. If a certificate of insurance is needed for this carrier, please call us and we will provided this to you. Second, we never misrepresented ourselves to this customer or any other customer. We clearly represent ourselves as a broker and clearly communicate that we will assign a carrier to transport our customers vehicles. Vehicles are not moved from truck to truck nor are they moved from terminal to terminal. Plycon Transportation is a very reputable company with over 100 trucks and they also have an 100 percent feedback rating in this industry from other carriers and brokers alike. They have been in business for over 20 years. So as anyone can see, we do take our selection in carriers very seriously. We completely understand Mr. Overbaughs disappoint with the damage. It is very rare that this happens but it is for this reason carriers have cargo insurance and we make sure to verify this for each and every carrier EVERY time they transport for us. We strongly disagree with the negative feedback we have received. However, Mr. Overbaugh has the right to express his feelings and frustrations as he sees fitting to the situation. We do, however, appreciate his business very much and wish him the very best.
