Unbelievably poor

I have been in the transportation industry for over 15 years, and have dealt with brokers on a daily basis. Placed order on 5/23, (1 week before first available pick-up date of 5/30), and was told finding a truck would be no problem. Called on 5/31, and was told 6/1. Called on 6/4, and was told it would be 6/6. Mid-day 6/6, called and was told he was in the area. Called on 6/8 and was given the carrier's phone number to try and call directly - no one answered or replied back.

Called in the AM on 6/12, and was told "Gee, he should have picked up on the 6th. Give me a couple of hours and I will get back to you." On 6/13 at nearly 3pm, called back, and waited until Robin was available. She tried telling me that the computer said my earliest pick-up date was 6/11, and they go by the system. There were no notes about a 6/6 pickup date or anything else. She said it was in dispatch, and I asked when would we have a carrier...and she said "You know what I think we are going to do, we are going to cancel this order." (Said with a NY attitude-I am from there originally!)

This gives all brokers a bad name - not just because of the delays, but because of the run-around and poor communication.

First of all the people in New York are by far the b est in the country and since the "gentleman" was originally from NY it's strange that he hasn't lost his nasty and profane attitude. This order was immediately cancelled when he called one of the woman in this office the most profane name you can call a woman. We dispatched this order to Long's Specialized Transport on June 5th, they finally called us on the 12th to tell us the owner of the company (who was also the driver) died of a heart attack and apologized for not advising us. We immediately posted it to the board for another trucker. Mr. Baris attitude procluded us from advising him of these facts.'
