I wanted to wait until I received the check before I posted this...

After reviewing transport companies as an option to ship my 1992 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance from Jax, FL to Pennsylvania, I decided to go with AAallstates based on the excellent reviews, the fact that they answered questions that I hadn't thought to ask,and their prompt responses to my inquiries.
I called PJ on Friday, July 11 to start the process along. He had originally quoted me a middle of the road(by comparison with about 11 companies!) price of $800.00 (150.00 for the broker and 650.00 for the carrier)by e-mail in late May.He didn't try to raise the price due to fuel or anything of that nature when I spoke to him a month and a half later.
After reading the reviews on this site, I knew that I wanted the vehicle top-loaded due to the vinyl top being susceptible to oil, etc. I informed him that I was willing to pay extra for this and he told me it wasn't neccessary; that it was a courtesy that the shipper should extend.I offered to add 50.00 to the price anyway, hoping to get it picked up faster.
Within 2 hours of speaking to PJ, the carrier (First Choice Transport) arrived at the seller's house with a 4-5 car trailer(after calling first). I also received a courtesy call from AAallstates.
The drivers took their time loading the car (on top),securing it and noting any existing defects.
I had the opportunity to speak with the driver by telephone at that point and he informed me that he would have my car here by Sunday, July13 or early Monday.
The seller told the driver he was getting 50.00 to top load the car, and the document he signed reflected a cost of 750.00.
At about 6PM on Sunday I received a call from the driver stating that his trailer was having brake problems and he was stopping for the night in D.C.(about 3 hours away) and having the brakes looked at in the morning.
At about 10am Monday he said he was on the road and would be here in four hours, give or take.
At 3PM he called and said he was in Maryland and it would be 3 more hours.
At 7PM I was told he was on the Turnpike and it would be 40 minutes(a logistical impossibility).
At9PM I was told he was on I-78....completely across the county from the turnpike.
At 11 PM I was told he had a flat on one of his trailer tires but would be here soon...40 minutes again...
At 12:30AM he rolled into a Wendy's parking lot near my home (best lighting on short notice) with the Cadillac on the bottom of the trailer in the back....I was not pleased..
He unloaded the car and I looked it over with a Maglite the best that I could. It was dirty, but after 900 miles through I'm not sure which states, I expected that.Everything seemed to be in order, nothing broken, etc. so I signed the delivery receipt and parted with 750.00 (too tired and disgusted to argue about 50 bucks at this point...I was just glad that it was finally here!)
Tuesday morning I went out to inspect the car more thoroughly and, lo and behold, oil spray up the front of the hood and onto the vinyl top!It was a thin oil and the road grime did a good of hiding it the previous night.
Into the house I went and called PJ. I got his voice mail and left a fairly irate message detailing my experience.(sorry PJ!)
Back outside witha bottle of Dawn and a garden hose...
Not long after, I got a call from Randy at AAallstates. He was on a conference call with the owner of First Choice Trucking. I explained everything to him. He informed me that the driver was new and apologized about a hundred times. Then he did something that blew me away..he offered to send me a check for 150.00 to compensate me for my troubles.Of course I accepted and thanked him for going the extra mile.
I then thanked Randy for following up on my message when, in reality, they didn't have to do a thing; they'd already been paid!
Bottom line: I would recommend AAallstates to ANYONE looking for a transport company. They are honest and fair and truly seem to care about their customers.

P.S. the driver called and left a voice message on Wednesday apologizing for everything and letting me know that there was a hydraulic leak on his trailer that he wasn't aware of...might be time to scrap that trailer..
