The Fine Print of Anytime

I arrived to Milwaukee, WI to help my disabled father move to my house in Seattle, WA. Because of my work schedule I had a limited amount of time to support with the move so we decided to ship his car. We reserved a space with another shipping company, but the day before we were supposed to fly out they hadn't come to collect the car. I looked them up online and they had one star reviews, so we canceled and called Anytime Inc which had much better reviews. When I talked to them on the phone the man said that booking with them required payment upfront because it was like "reserving a seat on an airplane". He said that by giving him the money we were guaranteeing transport. We told him that we would be flying out on Wednesday 3/24/21. He told us that he couldn't get the car moved that quickly, but asked if we could leave keys and said Friday there was availability. We left keys with the apartment complex and told him that they would be there M-F 9-5pm. The man I spoke with asked me to put the number of the apartment manager on the contract, which I did. Friday came and went and they did not call us or Jennifer. Saturday, they called to say they could pick up the car. We already told them we would be in Seattle and that they had to coordinate with Jennifer. This is all under the realm of normal miscommunication, annoying, but nothing that I would post a scathing review about, but what happens after someone makes a mistake is the true measure of a person or a company. Not only did Anytime Inc choose not to admit that they messed up, they continued to not communicate with us about the car. The car can only stay in the parking space until the end of the month which would not be a problem if they had honored our original agreement and picked the car up on Friday 3/26/21. Now they are saying they want to pick it up on Thursday or Friday 4/1 or 4/2. I asked for a refund, which they refused stating that we signed a contract. But when I am looking at the contract it says that they won't give a refund once the car is in possession. The car has not been picked up. They are over a week later than we agreed upon which means we will have to pay additional money to the apartment complex. We won't receive it for at least another week and we need it to help my dad get to his medical appointments. So that is more money out of pocket for lyfts and cab rides. This is already an incredibly stressful time for my family, not to mention being in a pandemic. At this point we don't know if or when the car is coming and no one on their team gives a fuck. They should rename their company Anytime that is convenient for us. I called and asked for a refund. I have a friend in Wisconsin who is willing to drive the car out and since they haven't picked it up or even said when they will we just want our money back and to be done with this nightmare. Is this how you people make your money? Off the backs of people who trusted that you would operate in good faith? An apology would have gone a long way, but also since you haven't honored your part of the deal, just give us back our money and let us be done. Do not fall prey to this scam.
