PICK UP WAS HORRIBLE - I'm a military man and needed my vehicle to be moved from Virginia to California. When I initially contacted AA Automovers (3 weeks before the move), Mike Kownacki, answered my call and was very friendly and informative about the experience. That was the end of the good portion of my experience. I later received an email from Mike assigning a subcontracted company (Towne Automotive Brokers Inc) which was fine. My vehicle was scheduled to be picked up between November 31 and December 4th. My flight to California was on December 6th to my next duty station. When December 3rd rolled around I had not heard anything from either AA Automovers (Mike) or the subcontractor (Towne Auto). So I called both places and got no answer and got an answer machine - not once, not twice, but three times. I tried calling Mike directly and he would never answer my questions directly and would just forward me to Customer Service which was rude. Finally, after squabbling on the phone between Towne and AA, I finally got a call from a guy to pick up my car at midnight on the 5th of December (1 day after my contracted pick up). I think the only reason they got my car was because I was such a pest on the phone. Both AA was unhelpful with resolving my issue and the subcontractor was absolutely horrible at picking up my car on time. Once I finally got the subcontractor out to my location to pick up my car - he had no Bill of Lading or Company ID. He gave me his drivers license that I made a copy of and he wrote on a scratch piece of paper that he was picking up my car.

DELIVERY. My car was delivered five days late from the dates that were on my contract which required me to use a rental for another week. AA Automovers should have paid for my rental car since they did not meet the contract. They, however, would not.

RECOMMEDATION - AA Automovers needs to:
1. Consider the contract they are writing with the customer because my contract was breached twice.

2. They need to review thier auto mover subcontractors because Towne Autmover Brokers Inc. was horrible and not professional at all. No Bill of Lading is uncalled for.

3. They should have followed up after my car was delivered to ensure my experience was good or completed.

MILITARY PERSONNEL - Do not use AA Automovers. Although they require a week of flexibility for picking up your car, they will not do it on time which will affect your PCS move. I strongly recommend using another company.

We are sorry that this customer had difficulties with his transport company. We have suspended Towne from our approved carriers, not because they were delayed (which must be understood is common in over-the-road hauling and is no one’s fault), but because they did not provide proper id or bol. We suggest Mr. Kosters provide his review of their service under their name. We requested a review of his experience by email on 1/23/09 so his comment regarding follow up is inaccurate, as is his comment that we breached contract twice. We did not breach our contract in any way and his comment regarding that is too vague to address further. His shipment took place in the middle of December – we followed up and requested his review on 1/23.
