UPDATE - So Sad

On 17 October 2003 A-1 picked up my van and transported it to FL.

It arrived on time.

It also had $2181.00 in damages. The driver apologized and admitted it was caused by the company. I did everything I was required to by the contract with A-1. I Federal Expressed to the Carson City address, the two quotes, pictures of the damage, the original invoices, and the invoice that the driver signed showing the new damage.

I'm so sad that over the next six months, I got the complete run around. First it was so hard to get a hold of anyone at their numbers in Carson City. Everyone I needed to talk to was either off or left for the day. This lasted for weeks. No returned phone calls either. First they sent me a letter saying they did not cause the damage. When I proved to them that they did, they sent me a check for what they felt was a fair settlement. I felt differently and returned the check.

I needed to have the repairs done correctly and have a side panel replaced instead of repaired. I live in the rust capitol of the United States, and my vehicle was new. I just wanted my vehicle back to the condition it left California in, I did not want anything unjust. After many more months, I was sad I could not work this out with A-1 Transport, I turned the claim into my insurance company. The repairs were done in May 2004, seven months after A-1 Transported the vehicle for me. I'm also sad to report my insurance company was unable to contact A-1 either. They tried real hard, I provided them more information and phone numbers daily. I gave them the Watsonville California address also. My insurance would still like to talk to A-1 and get reimbursed for the repairs, but it seems that is impossible.

Consumers: Look through the favorable comments about A-1 and notice they were cut and pasted from an earlier time here on this website. There are not as many satisfied customers as it appears. Please read carefully.

Please don't be fooled when you read A-1's replies to our complaints. Our complaints are valid and I can back mine up. They say in their replies, that we made false statements here, and that is just not true in my case.

There are other transport companies out there, I used another one for a second car, and was pleased with their performance. Thanks for listening. A-1 if you are listening, please contact my insurance company and not me, they would like to close my case.

Well, I sure have learned my lesson! Mike placed took my order of the phone and sounded he sounded like a really nice guy and I trusted them with my rig. When taking my order he said that they ship all kinds of Hummers (H1's) and I should get it in a week. When arranging the pickup I got an email saying that the hummer was to big and they will have to find a sub-hauler. One of the reasons I choosed this company was because they had their own trucks. I called customer service and I don't think I have ever gotten it that bad. The first thing that Teresa says to me is,"I cannot help you in anyway shape or form becasue our system is down". Luckly they have not touched my hummer yet and I am calling them first thing in the morning to cancel my order. Even though they haven't charged me yet I am hoping that the credit card company can help out in the dispute. I was trying to save a few bucks and go with a cheaper carrier but I understand now why they do have better rates. I cannot comment on the completed service because they haven't touched it yet but I can say this is one of the worst experiences I have had with ANY company. It really shocks me that this company stays in business with such terrible service.
