The driver put the tie down chains on my axle and across my fuel tank, which punctured a hole in the tank, ripped off the gas tank straps, and severely damaged the other side of the gas tank. I had the car towed to a service station and they found the hole in the gas tank and other damage from the tie down chains. They confirmed all damage was done due to not securing the vehicle properly to the trailer and incorrectly installing the tie down chains.

AAAdvantage Auto Transport, Inc. said that when I booked the transport, I signed off on holding them liable for any damage if they use a subcontractor. So, basically they can put your car on any carrier out there and if it is damaged, you have no recourse. They sent my information to the subcontractor and it has been 3 weeks and they still have not contacted us and when we called them, they denied any wrongdoing and refused to take responsibility.

Since that time, AAAdavantage Auto Transport, Inc. said they would pay less than a third (1/3) of the total cost for repairing the vehicle. They stopped short of denying they caused the damage, but instead are pointing the fingers at the other parties involved (their subcontractor and the subcontractor's driver). We are in the process of discussing our case with an attorney and plan to file a lawsuit as early as next week against all three parties, with the primary being AAAdvantage.

My advice is to avoid using AAAdvantage Auto Transport, Inc. because they are going to subcontract your car to an unknown carrier who will not be responsive or responsible if they damage your vehicle. Use a carrier who will stand by their work and who will not make you sign a waiver that they are not responsible despite giving your order to someone who is making pizzas one night and hauling cars the next. Use a reputable company and avoid AAAdvantage Transport, Tempe, Arizona and carmoves.com.
