We've just had a terrible experience with A AAAdvantge (web site www.carmoves.com) out of Tempe, AZ. I chose them to move our car from Tampa to San Francisco because they has listed many corporate clients and because they claim they have their own fleet of trucks. I can only assume that these are false claims. They lie to you about when they can pick up and deliver the car so they can take your deposit, or in our case the entire transport cost. Then they refuse to communicate with you as to changed/later pickup dates. I wish I had used this site before selecting a carrier. Here's our saga...

The sales rep, Ed Gerhart, assured me that our vehicle would be picked up in a specific time window. When no driver contacted our vehicle location by the latest date of 7/7, I called AAAA to see what was up. In a nutshell:
* they immediately charged our credit card for not just the deposit but the entire amount (over 1000)
* twice spent 46 minutes on hold with cust svc; Ed wouldn't pick up on our call anymore
* cust svc rep admitted Ed had lied on the available pickup dates
* said we were scheduled for pickup on the 12th
* they were planning to use a sub carrier (even though they say they have their own trucks they use subcontracted drivers)
* that date was too late for us - no one home at vehicle location
* said we could drive it to the closest terminal but this wasn't acceptable - we had no one to drive it over there
* meantime we were contacted by another carrier, Auto Transport Center, Inc, who we had contacted initially along with a ton of other companies for quotes
* they said they had a driver in the area and could pick up in two days (we've gone with them and they've been very responsive and the car was actually picked up; remains to be seen when it will arrive)
* spent another 40 minutes on hold with AAAA to cancel the order and/or discuss options
* I've sent about 5 different emails to customer service, Ed Gerhart the "sales rep," and their GM Jim Sprotte, with absolutely no response save the auto response from their email server.
It has now been a full week since we tried to cancel with them and still no contact. I have personally spent hours of my time dealing with this company. I'm usually against additional govt regulations but this industry truly needs to be better regulated. Good luck.
