I'm sorry for the late report back regarding the move of my mother's car from Escanabe, MI to Marina del Rey, CA. I want you to know that I was very pleased with the service your company provided.
There was, however, a little "glitch" on the front end with picking it up. The agent hired to pick the car up from the Northwoods Assisted Living Facility was apparently not familiar with your company's protocol. They picked up the car by merely going to the front desk and requesting the keys, never having the vehicle inspected or signing off on a transfer, or leaving a receipt via bill of lading. Fortunately my brother (an over-the-road trucker) was there visiting my mother and the front desk alerted him that the car had been taken. He immediately tracked down the company and ordered them to return the vehicle to go through the proper paperwork. (He also knew that the company worked closely with the Michigan State Police in accident pick-ups, etc. and finally had to threaten them with calling the State Patrol if they didn't return the car for proper documentation.) Unfortunately for my brother and mother, this process took all afternoon - 4 hours. Anyway, it got handled. We realize, of course, that the agent you contracted has probably never done this before since the demand for moving cars from the U.P. of Michigan is so great - Ha! Ha!
Dick from AR-DIC Freightways out of Ithaca, MI is a true professional. He gave me the history of how the car was taken to the Mackinaw Bridge (where he picked it up) for transfer to lower MI. For the rest of the long route, the Toyota Camry was in the best hands ever. He communicated with me via phone and actually delivered the car two days earlier than expected. Due to major construction on our street with condo building, he called from the street and I ran out, jumped in the cab of his car-carrier and directed him around a couple of blocks to a safer unloading location. He knows what he's doing; I can't say enough about him. He's neat, polite, knowledgable, and absolutely knows his stuff. The car arrived without so much as a scratch or rub mark. His 44 years of experience (which he conveyed to me) are apparent. It will be a sorry day when he retires; you'll lose a terrific carrier.
I would recommend your service to anyone who needed to move a vehicle. Your rates were very fair and service terrific.
