This is the first time I have ever transported a car and was sort of skeptical of websites like this. I thought that maybe people made this stuff up, but here I am posting about my experience in transporting a car. I sent my daughter in CA a '95 Toyota Camry. When I called 5 Star Nationwide, Gilbert was very helpful in answering my many questions. I was charged $93.00 for 5 Star for their brokerage services, which was WAY under what other brokers wanted to charge. 5 Star did not charge my credit card until the car was picked up by BNTT. On the plus side, the car was given a ride on an enclosed transport instead of the open transport for which I was quoted (it was just a luck of the draw). Niko, the driver/owner was an independent contractor. He was based out of the Chicago area and had pickups in Decatur & Springfield, IL before he picked up our car(which are north of us about an hour) and did contact us promptly when he was assigned our contract. He was assigned our contract on a Friday afternoon and picked up the car on Saturday (the next day) around 5:45pm. He was a very personable and interesting person. He loaded the car and five days later he was unloading the car for my daughter in Nothern CA. She had the cashiers check for $700 and the thing I feared most did not happen-that there would be additional charges! When Gilbert said the cost wouild be $793.00-that WAS the TOTAL Cost! The only downside as far as I was concerned was having to decide on only one choice of a carrier and not having enough time to check out who was going to be assigned the contract. But I was given the information I ask for-the cargo/liability carrier for BNTT and was able to obtain via fax the certificate of insurabilty for BNTT. Overall, I would say that this was a positive experience and 5 Star and BNTT did what they said they were going to do. If I ever had to transport a car again, I would use both 5 Star and BNTT. Gilbert also gave me 3 references for 5 Star and when I called the 3 references, they all gave 5 Star great ratings, so they did live up to their reputation!
Thanks to Gilbert and Niko for their fine service!
