I contracted 477 express on Wendsday April 20th 2011 and was given a total price of $465 to deliver a pick up truck I purchased. It was to be shipped approx 400 miles from PA to NJ. Carlos Catala from 477 Express asured me that this was no problem as they do the PA NJ runs all the time. I was not aware that they are not the trucking Co. And was never told that they were a broker. He told me they would pick the truck up on Friday April 22nd. That never happened. I called back and was given another date of April 29th, and told they could not pick up the truck for the contracted price and it would be $50 more, I agreed to the price increase but still they did not pick up the truck. On that conversation I could not contact Carlos he was no longer availible I was nanded over to dispatch I asked for the name of who I was talking to he told me it was Hector but does not give out his last name, with being in business myself for 27 years I knew right then i was dealing with a below average company. On my next call I was given a new pick up date of Monday May 9th that never happened. I called back and was given a trucking company name and phone number who was suppossed to get my pick up. I guess thats how 477 washes there hands of my job. I called the trucking company and they knew nothing about my pick up truck. Today is the 25th of May one month and 5 days after our contract started. I have no truck but 477 does have there non refundable $165 charge for not picking up my truck. I have now hired another trucking company to get my truck. I have shipped cars before and never had a problem but had allways dealt directly with the trucking company. On this one I did not know I was dealing with a broker and it will never happen again
