NOTE: This review may appear negative only because I chose to highlight one aspect of the move that was very upsetting for me. The fact of the matter is that the car arrived within the parameters given, at the price quoted, in excellent condition. As the overall rating suggests, I would certainly contract with 1st Call Auto Haul again in the future.

I selected 1st Call Auto Haul based on the positive feedback on this site. However, I came to understand the limitations of a seemingly one-man operation (broker-side). My order was processed and assigned to a carrier in a timely fashion. When I tried to contact Eric with concerns over the selected carrier (before pick-up), I was met by days of silence. I left several voice messages and emails...and I only heard back after the car was delivered (same day, actually). The worst part is that the fraction of the quote paid to 1st Call Auto Haul far exceeded their standard. NOTE: Upon calling this morning, I realized that some fraction of this charge may be paid to the carrier after delivery...so the extent of 'extra' paid to the broker is indeterminate.

Eric later contacted me to inform me that he was out of the office for the duration...(weekend service is NOT available despite the website; he was sick early in the week) understandable but that certainly didn't help my situation at the time. It was a bit frightening to try to check on my vehicle, only to be directed (repeatedly) to voice mails that were overly full (eventually could no longer leave messages). Apparently other people had similar difficulty.

HOWEVER, Eric was always very pleasant and professional. The carrier assigned, Exotic Carriers, really came through for me with a friendly driver and no vehicle damage. Since the broker assigns the carrier, I credit 1st Call Auto Haul for the success of the move, thus I would certainly contract with them in the future.

People less panic-y than myself certainly would have had no issue with the move (but know that there are no weekend hours, despite the website's hours). I certainly would try not to worry so much next time.
