Where to begin? Well I am an actual paying customer that has learned the hard way about how the business goes from a really nice fellow named Ray McGlinchey at 1-Flat Rate LLC. I was scammed initially by a bunch of slackers - I wont name names (Continental Auto Movers ... look for my exciting review of these jokers next). They did pretty much what everyone else here writes about. They love you and care soooo much about you right up to the moment you send a deposit UP FRONT ... for a service that you will never receive. By the time its all sorted, you are out a couple a hundred bucks, a month's stress, and back to square one - since your vehicle hasn't moved an inch. If you are renting space, well - you can do the math.

Do yourself a favor if you are smart enough to read these reviews first and go right to Ray at 1-Flate Rate LLC. I found about Auto Transport Reviews only AFTER making my deposit to those window-lickers at Continental. So Ray calls me with a quote and I notified him I already retained a service and despite this he said no problem, but let me give you so free advice then - NEVER NEVER NEVER pay a deposit up front.

"Ladies and gentlemen we have just lost cabin-pressure." Ever have that sinking feeling? Yep, I got worked but Ray was there to talk me through it. Mind you I still hadnt made any deal with him. He offered his help, cheered me up and said he could keep an eye on things. After a month of going nowhere with the crooks at Continental Auto Movers, I cancelled their service (complete with a fake deposit return - which I never got back - shame on you Continental Auto Movers you bunch of lying liars), and I called Ray back and asked him for his help.

At this point he went to every effort to find me a driver for my odd-ball camper trailer which was a real task due its shape and single axle which presented a number of challenges. I figured no one would ever pick this thing up and just when I was standing at the edge of the tub with my hairdryer, the phone rang and Ray saved the day with all kinds of folks lining up to pick it up! The trailer was picked up the NEXT DAY and was delivered a solid 3 days early.

The part I haven't yet addressed is, I lost out by being cheap. My trailer was cheap - but transport isn't. I didn't want to pay big bucks so when I got a deal a that was too good to be true - I learned the hard way that it was. Ray was well aware I had been scammed and frustrated and that hauling my trailer would likely be more than I had first anticipated. Keep in mind he doesn't get a penny until your vehicle arrives (thats how a good businessman works). Well, he donated his commission to see that my trailer got picked up and though I usually find myself the victim - this was one of those instances where my faith in good people was restored. This was well above what most consider above and beyond.

And no - I didn't get a dime for this review. This site is their bread and butter in the Transport Industry, a bad review is like a bad rating on eBay ... no one will touch you. And yes - this is a real unsolicited opinion from a very once-frustrated guy who is at last happy at having found a good guy among so many creeps (see: Continental Auto Movers). Please contact me if you want more info or proof or recipes - I will sing praises for Ray and do in fact plan to use his services again. Straight up - he's the real deal. Do your self a favor and dont wast your time - 1-Flat Rate if you want it to get there.
