I've read many and many of the reviews on this site, and quite frankly I learned that most people who use car transport companies, do not have a clue how things works, like me in the beginning. Almost all of the company that you call are BROKERS, they do not own any truck, or having any kind of transportation company. What's important is to find an honest broke who would quote you a realistic quote and here's how it works. The "company' that you call will quote you a price with a deposit. In fact what that person did was to "guesstimate" how much of a cost real trucker and trucking company would and willing to pick your car for. The deposit??? well it's not really a deposit, it's a broker's fee.

My car was from an auction in Oregon to Texas.
What the broker then do is to post your order in the "Central Dispatch" for any trucker or trucking company to see. If the cost is realistic and reasonable, then it gets pick up quickly. If the quote your broker gave you was low in order to get your business, well then, your car is gonna sit there for awhile until your broker calls you telling you that it would cost more now, to get the car pick up. You are then at the first mercy of the broker. Let's say your car get picked up, you will then be at the mercy of the trucking company or the truck driver, because to be honest, most of these brokers do not care who pick up your car. What to learn out of this is to make sure you chose a reputable broker like the ones on this review site, but do not fall into the trick of a low quote, and also chose a broker that require a deposit up front, but instead when you car is actually picked up.
