Poor service, dishonest company.

I contacted Mercury to ship my car because they gave me a good rate ($795) to ship my old car. Before agreeing to use their service, I wrote them a email to ask if they have any additional fee or hidden fee, and they said "No dispatch fee on pickup balance on delivery." Therefore, I agreed to give them a chance to do this business.

However, the driver came to pick up my car and said the total is $1050, which came from $150 deposit fee plus $900 shipping fee. My friend took care of my car, so I cannot argue with them immediately. I wrote few emails to Mercury, but I didn't get any satisfying answer. I told them this is dishonest: the quote is higher than what they promised to offer; the $150 deposit is nonrefundable (so why it was called "deposit". I am thinking to file a formal claim about this later.

Also, my proxy to check in the car at the destination had unexpected travel at the time to check in the car, so I contacted the driver and request for a late delivery. Later, I got a message and the driver said "no problem". However, they still ship the car early, so there's no one to check in the car of course. I have to ask another friend to do me a favor and this was very annoying. I will never ask Mercury to ship any car. Poor service, dishonest company (charge more than the quote). I'd rather give them minus 5 star (-5).

Hi Winston, We both know you gave us a credit card for our 150 deposit , and that the carrier was to be paid the balance on delivery of 900. We also sent you a contract that you signed and faxed back. It clearly states the price ,and the terms and conditions. While we are happy your car arrived with out a problem . We are disappointed we did not meet or beat your expectations. To answer your question..It is a deposit to reserve your space on the truck. We explain everything in detail and email all the information as well. Im not sure how we fell short on this one, but we will continue to do our best for our customers. Sincerely, Management
