Price Increases and Confusion

I had a relatively bad experience with Amerifreight. Most of the problems may be related to the contact handling my quotes, and not the whole company..?.

The price originally quoted was low, as to be expected. However, I had to continue to call back and try to get an update on the process of my order. I could rarely get anyone on the phone. On several occasions I was told I would be called right back and was not. The process to actually find a hauler took well over 2 weeks.

The order details could not be confirmed or explained over the phone, but was instead spelled out in confusing emails. This was most likely because, prices were raised and insurances added that were not agreed on. (Original Quote- $1,200 per vehicle. Final price- $1,745 per vehicle.)

Even after giving open ended available dates for pick up and delivery, I still paid a premium rate. Any other time involving purchasing a service from a business I would have walked away and went else where, but due to relocating my family across country and selling a house, I did not have the time to juggle transport companies as well.

Most alarming and interesting, is that the day I called to cancel the order and was going with another company, my contact, while I was on the phone with him suddenly had a hauler that would take my order.

Very poor customer service, and although they generally have great ratings online, I would strongly recommend that if your looking to hire a company to handle the shipping of your vehicles and you want the company to be the ones making calls and working to make that happen and keeping you informed, DO NOT use Amerifreight.
