I hired mercy trucking to haul one of my snowbirds. I was the broker on the deal. The vehicle went to a park/fly terminal in Tampa, fl. The carrier dropped off the vehicle and the gate person took the car and signed for the paperwork. When Mercy trucking pick up the vehicle at my terminal in Worcester, mass they did a BOL bill of lading and sent it to me. Once the vehicle was dropped at terminal the paperwork was signed showing no damage the one that was sent to me. The one the customer got showed roof damage. She had no radio and took it to the dealership and the roof racks/car antenna was broken along with damage to the front fender. The customer didn't notice it right off as her uncles was about to pass away and her cat was sick. The BOL were switch in an attempt to show that the customer put in the damages. I know the customer and she is very honest. What mercy did was totally wrong. I had to mail the customer 500 dollars to cover the cost and she had to file a claim with her insurance company. The trucking company had a 2000 dollar deductible so they wouldn't cover it. I did file a complaint with the fmcsa and they are going to look into it. Please be careful if you use Mercy trucking.
