I was totaly pissed, when I found that my car had 81 miles put on it, by the Transport company.
I was referred to Melan Trucking by Stateway Auto Transport Inc. I had chose Stateway because they used their own trucks, so I paid 135.00 more than the average quoates, I received. My car is a 2004 M.B. S-55. I know that it's not new, but it only has 25,317 miles on it. I take very good care of it, and keep it in prestine condition. I was very concerned when Stateway emailed me about my car being shipped by another company. I was told that Stateway didn't have a truck availble at the shipping date. Stateway assured me that they had used Melan Trucking for at least three years, and Melan was very honest and dependable. When my car was picked up on 9/20/12. Mr Kovalev Vitaliy seemed, both honest and very knowledgable. I told him that we could not receive my car untill 10/03 in Florida. He said that was not a problem. My car left with 25,317 miles on it. When it arrived it had 25,408 on it. Before my car left I took photos that included the odomiter milage. There was also a small dent on the right quarter pillar. When I called Melan, I was told that the car was over weight and had to be driven off their truck onto the weight scales.
I kept asking why they put 81 miles on it? I never received a sensible answer. It's unbelievable that a trucker would drive someones car 81 miles, and take such a risk for the company they work for. But, they did. I would NOT use eather of these carriers again, or recomend them to anyone.
