Beware !!!!!!

This company is very deceitful, wasted my time, makes promises it can't keep, and ended up costing me a lot more than they quoted.......STAY AWAY......

I was on vacation, heading to Mammoth when my truck broke down in Bishop. Since it was Monday; I needed to get my truck shipped back to Los Angeles that Saturday since I would be back in town and could avoid taking a day off from work.

I spoke to several carriers which quoted me around $330.00 to to $450.00 but none of them could pick it up until the following week (Tuesday or Wednesday) except Better Way Transport who quoted me $400.00 but assured me that they could do it on Saturday. Keep in mind, that was the only reason I went with them.....

No problem since I needed it done. However, when I followed up on Thursday morning; they told me they needed to confirm that they had a driver and would call me back. Obvisously, no call back and by the time I called them; they were closed.

So I called them immediately Friday morning and basically gave me the same story but assured me that Saturday wouldn't be a problem but was still trying to track down a driver. I told them that doesn't sound good.

I explained to them the reason I went with them, made that clear to the their salesman, and that I couldn't afford to take another day off from work. The person on the phone "Amy" told me that I could ask for a refund of my $100.00 deposit but their contract states that they have a 3-5 day window to pick up the vehicle and even though they assured me, my refund will be subjected to a 25% charge for cancellation.

I kept calling them all day long on Friday to get an update, kept getting put on hold, and was never able to speak to anyone. My brother was fortunately able to speak to a guy by the name of Mark but basically, led to nowhere.

Get this, Saturday...they were closed, so guess what; my truck was still in Bishop.

I called them on Monday and expressed my dissapointment. They had the balls to throw their contract language back at me stating they have a "3-5" day window from the first day the truck was available. Since I booked the reservation last Tuesday and signed the contract on Wednesday; I guess I am in the wrong...despite their assurances...what a joke !

Anyway, the ordeal keeps going...they tell me that they can have the truck picked up but it will now cost me $450.00. I asked them, are you sure they are going to pick it up and deliver before 5pm to the shop because if so, I will need to take off early from work to pay the remaining balance....their response, "of course"....

Well, I decided to call the shop in Bishop around 1pm to see if the truck got picked up yet...of course it wasn't....so I call Better Way Transport and they told me...that the truck will be picked up and will be delivered first thing Tuesday morning...okay, I can deal with that; I don't have to leave work early and can meet them in the morning at the shop.

Tuesday morning rolls around; no truck....gee, really?

I called Better Way Transport and couldn't get through....by luck, I received a call from the truck driver who picked up my truck....well to find out; he was calling me to confirm the addresses....in other words, he hasn't even picked up my truck yet....I am so glad I took the morning off....

I decided to give the repair shop the remaining balance of $350.00 to pay the driver and head off to work....

The turmoil continues......

So now it's Wednesday, August 8 and I receive a call from the truck driver that has my truck and that I now owe him $450.00 and not the $350.00. I immediately call Better Way Transport and after being put on hold again, calling back, and talking to them....Amy tells me that she told me that it was $450.00 and that it's up to me to pay for it or the truck driver will put it in storage.....

In other words, this delivery is now costing me $550.00.

BEWARE....there have been similar incidents, such as, the following:

I wish I would have done my homework first.....do not use them...they shouldn't be in business.....
