most horrible experience I ever had

I arranged to have my Subaru picked up in Monrovia, CA and shipped to Boston, MA. I was quoted 1095, with a $159 deposit. THey told me originally that the pickup time was a 24 hour window. On the Friday of the first day of my pickup window I called Atlas and they told me it was actually a 1-4 day pickup window (that would make it May 16th-May 19th). They also said that if we paid more to the driver when he got there the driver would get there faster. Although we were angry about this new information (we have to pay more money to get my car picked up when promised???) we added $100 on our end as incentive to get the driver there faster. Well, the 18th came and went and I didn't receive my 24 hour notice for pickup. So, Monday morning I called Atlas and they told me they still didn't have a driver. So, I was promised a 1-4 day window of pickup, and on the 4th day I was told they still didn't have a driver. I asked the guy I spoke to, "so, if I had $1000 to give the driver when he got here, he would be here?"
"That's correct," he responded.
"But you just told me you didn't have a driver..."
"That's right."
"So, do you have a driver or not?"
"Like I said, if you have more money to give the driver when he gets there he will get there faster..."
So, I am supposed to come up with MORE cash to give a person who isn't even there yet, when the company quoted me $1095 for the delivery????
BAD BUISNESS!!!!
I know that there are a lot of cars being transported right now, and I know the gas problem is washing up more trucks, causing a shortage....but if a company gives you a quote, they need to honor it, and if it is going to cost more money to get the driver there when promised I think it should be the company's responsibility to come up with that money.
I changed companies, and for the same price my car was picked up in 24 hours and will be delivered in 5 days.
Atlas sucks!
