I contracted with a broker and paid the deposit. Was assigned ABC Auto sports to transport vehicle. Ford F250 pickup truck picked up Thursday night and told would be delivered Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning to my location in FL. No phone call Mon. Tuesday I started calling broker and the trucking co to find out the estimated delivery time. After several phone calls found out truck would be delivered on Wed. Got a phone call at 11am on Wed from the truck driver stating that my vehicle had been involved in an accident. Reported that Orange County Sheriffs department was currently on the scene. The driver reported that he didn't know what to do and he didn't know if he should take it to a body shop. I told him I wanted my truck delivered so I could dictate who repaired my vehicle. I then received 3 phone calls from ABC Auto Sports making sure that I was going to meet the driver to pay for delivery. I had to change the location of delivery of my truck to an auto body shop because the truck was so severely damaged that it was not drive able. I asked for their insurance information and if a claim had been filed. No not yet and I kept hearing that they ABC Auto Sports had never had this happen before so Kathy would have to talk to ABC auto Sports owner about what to do, but again she wanted to make sure that I had the 510.00 cash to pay the driver. It took the driver 2 1/2 hours to get the F250 pickup truck off the top of the car carrier because my pickup trucks steering column was damaged in the accident. They had to use a sledgehammer in order to get the tires properly aligned to drive off the top of the car carrier. My truck suffered damage to the entire truck bed of the F250 requiring replacement. The force of the impact threw the F250 pickup truck forward into the car in front of it on the car carrier causing front bumper damage. The steering system was damaged which they are still determining the problem. The gear box and gears need to be replaced. The fiberglass bed lid was damaged in the accident and then according to the owner flew off the top of car carrier somewhere between Orlando and Clearwater, FL. also causing damage to the top of the F250 pickup cab. ABC Auto Sports insurance carrier is working on the claim. When I asked Joe who said he was the owner of ABC Auto Sports about their insurance he told me it would probably be faster for me to submit the accident to my insurance and then my company could go back and subrogate. My only fault in this accident was choosing this company to transport my vehicle. Their policy has no provision for rental car coverage so I have been without this vehicle since 4/12/12 when they picked it up. The adjuster for their insurance company listed my vehicle as being in excellent condition prior to the accident. The auto body shop estimates that it may be done by the beginning of June. The auto body shop and Joe, who said he was the owner of ABC Auto Sports said they did not believe the accident was a hit and run as described. Please understand that my F 250 pickup truck was on the very top of the car carrier right behind the cab of the car carrier. So my vehicle was picked up April 12 and I might have it by June. I paid 650.00 for transportation and now am also stuck with a rental car fee for more than a month. In addition now there will be a carfax on this vehicle for probably at least 10,000 damage and I just purchased this vehicle in March with a clean history. The insurance claims the policy doesn't include any provision for diminished value.
