My broker contracted with Speed Auto Transport Inc. I was told the car would be picked up on Friday the 8th of April 2013. When that didnt happen we were told Monday, Finally they picked it up on Tuesday the 12 of april. We were told it would be on an open truck with 9 other cars and we would have it in about a week. Next we were told they would be dropping it off on April 21 a Thursday. No one came. We called and were told it would come the next day Friday. Friday came and went so when we called we were told Monday. I told them I would be out of town and arrange to have someone here to meet them. Monday came and went with no car. Monday night we were told it would come Tuesday. I arranged to have someone there to meet them Tuesday and again it never came. I returned home Wednesday and told them I was going to report the car stolen if it didnt arrive Wednesday. At 8:30 when it was too dark to see if the car was damaged it finally was here but not on the truck I was told about but a trailor being towed by a car.
This was the worst service with the delayed pickup and 5 times not showing for the delivery. When i asked my broker why he would use such a company he claimed he didnt know but here I check the company out and find out they are the worst rated shipper in the business. This shipper needs to be put out of business and any broker who uses them needs to also be put out of business. We as consumers hire brokers who in turn hire these shippers expecting SERVICE. When I called the dispatcher I was threatened that they would take my car to their lot and charged a daily fee unless i shut up complaining and paid cash. Who regulates this industry? Where is the consumer protection. Personally I plan to look into that.
