I chose ShipACarDirect based on their reviews. I had purchased a car in Florida and needed it shipped from Ft Lauderdale to Ocean City Md. After eight days we still didn't have a carrier willing to bring the car to Ocean City, MD. So we changed delivery location to just outside Washington DC... 3 1/2 hrs away. On Friday we finally got a carrier UNO AutoTransport. They were scheduled to pick up the car on Monday, and I was told I would get a call from the driver before pickup. Monday came and I still hadn't recieved a call. Monday morning I called the dealer to alert them that the carrier was coming to pickup the car. They responed by telling me the car had already been picked up. I immediately called Eve at ShipACArDirect to ask what was going on. She explained the driver had called the dealership directly (without talking to me first which felt a bit weird), and that he would call me when he had a chance. Finally that night at 10:15 PM, the driver called and said the car would be delivered to DC on Wed between 6 and 9 AM, and I was to call him at 11:00 PM Tuesday night to get a better Idea of exacly what time he would be there. Because of the early hour and the unpredictable traffic around DC we decided to drive part way and spend Tuesday night just outside the city. I called the driver at 11 as he had requested, only to find out that he had never left Florida due to a mechanical problem with his truck. (I wish he would have called me as soon as he knew he was delayed and not have waited for me to call him at the pre-arranged time.) He explained he would be a day later than originally planned. Another night in a hotel, and the car finally showed up Thursday. ShipACar Direct was helpful, but the price to ship the car ended up being higher than originally quoted, and the carrier had a lack of communication throughout the process (which ended up costing me two nights in a hotel). Next time I'll fly down and drive the car home. It would have been faster, cost less, and been less frustrating.
