Incompetent service, misrepresentations, and failure to deliver agreed services

Working with Montway was one of the worst customer service catastrophes I have experienced with a company. The following are black and white, provable facts: > The customer service rep said I would be provided 1-2 days advance notice to coordinate a pickup time for my guaranteed delivery day order (for which I agreed to pay about $500 extra). When I was not contacted even by the afternoon before, I contacted them. They suddenly said I would only be contacted 2 hours before pickup time on the day of pickup. This change and lack of advance coordination created unexpected problems involving multiple people. > I was transporting a nice show car that always either stays in a garage or is only driven in fair weather. I properly ordered fully enclosed transport. 2 hours before pickup, they unexpectedly informed me that the car will be picked up in an open trailer, transported to an undefined open parking lot somewhere, and left out in the weather for an indeterminate amount of time until they could actually arrange an enclosed trailer to complete the trip. That was unacceptable for this type of car and I was never told by any customer service rep at any time before then. > I flew across the entire country to review and get the car ready for pickup on their guaranteed delivery date (extra cost that I agreed to pay) with an enclosed trailer (also an extra cost that I agreed to pay). By the end of the only day I was there, they left me completely unsupported with no solutions except their new, last minute, unacceptable change of plans. > I then had to cancel the order since Montway was completely incapable of following through on their commitments. After speaking with several Montway representatives, the last person said he would try to find a different company to provide what was originally ordered, and he would get back to me soon. I waited until 7:00pm and called again for an update. They had gone home and were closed, leaving me completely unsupported on my one day at the car site on the "guaranteed" delivery date. They never followed up the next day, either. Never heard from them again. I then started over completely from scratch with a different, more competent competitor. Since I was not in the area, I was also forced to arrange for interim storage and for someone to meet / provide the car to the new transport company. What should have been straightforward became a fiasco due to Montway's incompetence and misrepresentations. For obvious reasons, I will never use Montway and am warning others based on the facts of how they truly do business, especially for special extra-cost add-on scenarios that they actually are incapable of fulfilling. There are many other more competent options, so I recommend that you look elsewhere.
