Bought a new car, had it delivered USED!

We purchased a 2008 Cadillac CTS in Michigan and needed it transported to New Jersey. The car was delivered to us on 3-5-08

The vehicle was both picked up and delivered on time. BUT………..when the vehicle was delivered, the passenger side window was half down and the passenger seat was fully reclined. When we asked the driver about it he said he had no idea. He then asked the other driver about it and shrugged his shoulders as if to say WTF? At first we didn’t think too much of it. What we found out later surprised us to say the least.

The vehicle was delivered with ¼ tank of fuel. The dealer told us it would ship with a full tank of fuel. The car also left the dealer with 40 miles on the odometer.

We checked with the dealer about the fuel and he assured us that it indeed had a full tank when it left. We told him about the window and the seat and he said that there was no way the vehicle left that way. He told us that 3 people sign off on a car before it leaves. Then he had us check the onboard computer for average speed and oil life. The average speed was 4 MPH and the oil life was 97% (it should have been 100% since the vehicle was serviced prior to leaving). He said the car was run between Michigan and New Jersey, the car had 10hrs of use on it. Now it was starting to make sense. Assuming the dealer drove the car at an average speed of 40 mph for demo purposes (1 HR), the car ran for an additional 9 hrs. between Michigan and New Jersey.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the drivers took turns sleeping in the car while running the engine the whole way for heat. 3/4 of a tank of fuel burned idling our new car on the back of their truck so they could sleep in comfort. The shrugging of the shoulders on the driver’s part was because the last driver out forgot to put the seat up and close the window.

We were furious. We contacted Express Auto Delivery and so did the Dealer. We explained all the facts and we were both told, "NOT OUR PROBLEM". We were told they hire Carriers to transport for them and if we have a problem, it's with the Carrier and not Express Auto Delivery. We hired EXPRESS AUTO DELIVERY, not some Carrier, to get our car to us NEW, not USED.

What kind of problems can we expect down the road from an engine that idled for 8-9 hrs on a steep incline on the back of a truck? No offer of a refund, not even an offer to pay for the $40 of fuel burned. Just a “NOT OUR PROBLEM”.

Before posting this review, I contacted Express 1 last time and was given the name of Jeff Lam to speak to. I sent him an e mail and after 4 days he didn't even have the courtesy to respond.

BEWARE! THEY ARE A RIPOFF!
