SYNOPSIS: Car arrived with small chips to the paint, a dent, and several hairline cracks to rear bumper which looks to be the result from a big impact. The damage went unnoticed during the unload inspection.

To be fair, this review is mostly about the driver/carrier company, Cocan Transport, and not Direct Express. However, my comments reflect the whole experience of having my car transported.

I was happy with the way things were handled until I found the damage. The car was picked up in less than 24 hours, the driver informed me when the car would arrive and sounded courteous, and the transport time and cost was more than reasonable. The reviews on this website were also very good, and this was encouraging.

The car arrived somewhat dirty--there were coolant stains on the trunk lid and the paint was dusty. There were some minor scrapes to the treads of the two front tires--nothing serious. The driver, Nick, showed me the paper to sign, and I noticed the damage the car originally had--some tiny chips to the windshield and a few dents to the rear passenger door. Nick was very quick to point these out to me. I unfortunately did not see the damage to the rear bumper, and I tipped Nick $95. He seemed a bit uneasy taking the tip, and now I could see why.

I admit I could have inspected the car more carefully, and there is no recourse now. Having said that, the car was unloaded on the side of a street with cars going by only a few feet away, and it is actually not that easy to spot hairline cracks on a white car with dirty paint. The bottom line is the driver could have been more careful with the car. Yes, the car is a 2002 Audi. But, this is a low-mileage car in very good condition. It took me six months to find this car in this condition and color, and it upsets me that the car arrived damaged even before I got to drive it. The most important thing I was looking for in my transport experience was the car not getting damaged. This is not what I got from my experience with Direct Express.

Mr. Lee of California was assigned a driver on the same day that he entered his order and received his vehicle a few days later. That's exceptionally quick service, and Mr. Lee points out that his issue is not really with Direct Express. There isn't much we can do to help John at this point because he didn't note what appears to be minor damage at the time he received his car. We are sorry for any inconvenience of Mr. Lee and wish him well in his future endeavors.
