No Show and No Communication

I contracted with Countrywide to broker my auto transport on Feb 13 to move my vehicle from Georgia to California, with a hard pickup date of Feb 21. As it turns out, Countrywide underbid the work and thus no carrier picked up the bid. Here's where things get worse... no one from Countrywide told me the truth and in the past 24 hours have not answered the phone or returned voicemails.

I contacted another carrier today, who saw my original Countrywide bid on the open board, not filled. Countrywide knew this and never communicated to me the situation and dodged my inquiries. I have now contracted with another broker and already have confirmation from the carrier for a very short-fused pick-up. In the end Countrywide has cost me about $400 in higher pricing for a carrier to take my now urgent pick-up. Since Countrywide is not responding to my inquiries and I had paid them a deposit via Amex, I have opened a fraudulent charge investigation with Amex.

Lesson learned... if you have specific transport needs, like a specific pick up window, it's going to cost you more. When a broker charges you, that is the fee level they use on the open boards. In my case, the new broker indicated that I was competing with 26 other vehicles ready for pickup on the GA-CA route. At Countrywide's original quote level, I was one of the lowest payers... thus, not likely to ever be picked up at current business levels.

We have communicated very well with this customer. Sence this customer thinks this is a fraud, we are no longer taking deposits for or orders. We are not a fraud and do the best we can do to keep everyone happy.
