Beware the Good Reviews and RUN to Another Company

I had a bad experience with Amerifreight. I selected the plan that gave them 5 days to pick up my car. My car was picked up a week later than promised (11 days after the first available pick-up date, 11 DAYS!), and I had to continually call the agent daily just to make sure it got picked up even at that late date. The agent promised me several times to call me back with information about when the car would be picked up, and he never followed through - I always was the one who had to initiate contact. Apparently they "refunded" a bit of my deposit towards the cost of the carrier, but I would have rather them kept that money and picked up my car in a timely manner.

Once the car was picked up, the carrier they used was also a nuisance... they could not be reached on the day that they were scheduled to pick up the car, and ended up picking it up HOURS later than what they had told us the pick up time would be. Of course, when I got my car (which was brand new and had no damage to it) there was a scrape along a metallic piece on the back of the car. I didn't even bother reporting this because I was so ready to be done with the whole experience. I consider it my punishment for being stupid enough to use Amerifreight which led me to this carrier.

I wasn't even going to post a review for this company, but Amerifreight continually emails me REMINDING me to post a review so that I can qualify for some $20 rebate . . . so beware the good reviews. They did ask me to let them know if I plan to give them a bad review BEFORE posting my review so that they can have an opportunity to make up for whatever problems I had, but they can't go back in time and pick up my car on time, and they certainly can't go back and return all the unanswered phone calls either. I'm not an unreasonable person - I understand that it can be difficult to find a carrier, but instead of being honest and upfront about things, my contact continually left me hanging and forced me to call and hassle him until I got some solid answers. I gladly forfeit my $20 rebate for posting this unfavorable review in hopes that it will save someone else the hassle.

What kind of a company is stupid enough to continually REMIND someone to post a review when they know it's going to be a completely unfavorable one? Amerifreight, that's what kind of company. If you get a higher quote somewhere else, it's probably worth the extra money to make sure that things will be done right.

It is regrettable that we could not offer better service to our customer. We ask all customers to do a review on our services, even if we did bad, as we do not promise rebates for good service only. Reviews are part of the order close process. In this way prospective customers can read good and bad. We place our customers first and do not try to make excuses when we performed unacceptably. We know we do sometimes mess up. Poor communication does cause frustration. We will investigate this complaint and take action where necessary. We will try do better going froward.
