I requested that my 1989 Jeep Wrangler be moved from Fayetteville, NC to Omaha, Nebraska. This was the first time I had to ship a vehicle and did not know what to expect as far as 'lead time' between requesting my order and the actual pick up. I made first contact on 30 JUN and requested they pickup my vehicle on 10 JUL. I was working with some pretty tight timelines and requested my vehicle be dropped on on 16 or 17 JUL. (early or late would not have worked)

After placing my order and Stateway accepting my deposit, I did not hear from them again to confirm the order was going to be filled. I contacted them on 9 JUL (left a message which was not returned) and then again on 10 JUL and spoke to Tim. He informed me that they were still trying to find a carrier (mind you, this was the supposed pick up day). After a very frank discussion with him, he indicated he would see what he could do. He called me back shortly thereafter and asked if I would feel comfortable leaving the keys in the vehicle and the driver would pick it up on 14 JUL and drop it off on 17 JUL. It's a 26 year old Jeep; I had no issues, but if it was a more expensive vehicle, I would have been slightly upset.

The vehicle was picked up on 14 JUL and dropped off as promised on 17JUL with no further issues.

Moral of the story: Stateway dropped the ball with scheduling, failed to communicate with me until the last minute (and I had to initiate), but ended up pulling the plan together successfully and getting my vehicle delivered on time.

This might be a one-off situation, but reading reviews from other companies, this might just be the business. I would use Stateway again they were friendly, reasonably priced, and got the job done.
