Innaccurate vehicle condition description

The initial survey of the vehicle and its exterior condition was unreasonably critical, and plainly put me in an unwarranted position, vulnerable to suffering the cost of damages which could occur in transit. While we did not suffer contestable damages during the transit, the description of my car as being completely covered in paint "scratches" on the inspection diagram completed by the transporter was grossly overstated and misleading. Had anyone not familiar with the condition of this car prior to transit examined the Bill of Lading condition report, they would have concluded this car had been abused and uncared for, in need of a completely new paint job. While I am sympathetic to the concerns of the transport companies that they not be victimized by false claims of damage to cars they are paid to transport, I don't believe an overstated critique of the car at the origin of the transport, in a way that suggests its in need of a complete refinishing, is justified. This report amounted to a dishonest appraisal, leaving me, the customer, no reasonable prospect for being made "whole" for accidental or careless damage that might have occurred while the transport company had exclusive custody of the transported vehicle. This is a bad business practice, and if prevalent in the transport industry, will prevent me from ever utilizing the services of any vehicle transport company again. I spent a lot of money and nine days worrying that I'd have to prove the vehicle inspection report was grossly exaggerated had the car arrived damaged...or just throw in the towel and spend more out of my pocket to repair it. I am grateful and thankful that the car arrived at its destination in much the same condition as it began the journey. Aside from the wildly over-critical inspection report listed on my Bill of Lading, I found the driver, dispatcher and all others concerned in this transaction likeable, communicative, and professional. If you are willing to assume all risks of damage to your vehicle in transit, then I'd recommend using the services of this auto transport company. If I had it to do over again, I'd drive the car to its intended destination myself.
