Good customer service from broker, not from carrier

I am still not clear who it telling me the truth and who is not between the broker and the shipper. Our car was set to be picked up during a specific time slot and was not. It was picked up 17 hours later and delivered without incident. Both the carrier and the broker blamed the other for the missed pick up and said I needed to take up the issue with the other party. I strongly feel that the customer is putting their trust (and money) in the hands of the broker, which means they are then responsible for ensuring they work with reliable carriers. If the carrier they secure fails to fulfill their end of the deal, the broker should be accountable, both financially and operationally. Besides being very disappointed with the "its not my problem, take it up with the other party", working with AmeriFreight was pleasant. Ali was very responsive and found us a carrier within a very short time of posting the request. I could tell she was motivated to secure our business and was very accessible via phone and email.
