HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - CRAZY IF YOU USE THEM!

This was my third experience with this company in the last 18 months. The first experience was perfect. The second resulted in a two day delivery delay but it wasn't that big a deal. These two trips were between Connecticut and Colorado. This time I was shipping my car from CT to San Diego and assumed the experience would be solid. IT WAS NOT!

I paid a small premium to have the shipment expedited to pick-up was scheduled for August 28, 2014 in CT and a promise was made of delivery to San Diego within 7 days (Sept. 4th). In fact, 7-Star pledged to have the car delivered to San Diego Int'l Airport for my arrival. That didn't occur so I had to rent a car. I called and was originally told the car would arrive on Saturday or Sunday. I was a bit frustrated but figured a cross-country move can't necessarily be perfect - so no big deal. However, the weekend came and went with no car delivery. I called first thing on Monday and left multiple voice-mails. None of which were returned. I kept calling and finally got through to a representative who said they would investigate. Nothing but crickets....for two days. I kept calling and leaving VM and still no response. It's now 6 days beyond the pledged delivery date and 7-star tells me that they don't know exactly where the car is but its enroute and that I can expect to arrive on Saturday(10 days after the original delivery date). In the meantime, I get the number of the trucking company and connect with someone in NY at their warehouse who tells me that the driver of the car carrier that my car was supposed to go on LEFT FOR CALIFORNIA WITHOUT IT! I am able to determine that my car is still sitting in the warehouse in NY a week after it was supposed to have arrived in CA(and 2 weeks after the original pick-up).

Now, I am angry - - and my rental car has cost me $1K. I keep calling 7-star to determine what they are going to do about this clearly unacceptable situation. I get Mike S.(supervisor) on the phone at 7-Star and he says he is working with the trucking company to get to the bottom of what has happened and to ensure the car arrives ASAP. He then goes dark for two days. I never hear anything back from him despite multiple calls/emails. In finally connect with him and tell him I am going to contact the Florida Attorney General and file a complaint against 7-Star. He blames everything on the trucking company in NY and says he is filing a police report on the car as "missing" and says he will call me back by end of day with an update. That is the last I hear from Mike S. For the next 3 days I call 7-star repeatedly and get no replies. I continue to call the trucking company directly and finally get a hold of someone in NY who tells me the car is in Montana and will arrive Sunday (11 days past promised delivery date). Sunday comes and goes and no car. I continue to call trucking company (since at least I get to speak to someone) and finally get the word the car will arrive in San Diego on Wednesday. It does arrive that day - fully 2 weeks after the original delivery date and 3 weeks after it left CT. And get this - - the driver calls and says I need to pay an extra $400 upon delivery because I had some clothes in the car at shipment (which had been cleared and approved by 7-Star prior to shipping. I had done the same thing on the two trips to Colorado.) Clearly, there was no way I was paying the extra $400 and told them "You can keep the car then and I will report it stolen." They caved and agreed to deliver the car. The kicker - - the driver asked for a tip upon delivery! NO POSSIBLE WAY!

Bottom-line: I am reasonable person. Well-educated with a good job. I can understand small mix-ups. I can even understand big screw-ups. Stuff happens. But, what I cannot understand is a company that makes incredible blunders and will not communicate with its customers. They way 7-star handled this was inexcusable. It is a miracle they can do business. It is a bigger miracle that the Florida AG has not shut them down. The biggest miracle of all for 7-star is that you read this review and still choose to use them. If you do - - with all due respect - - YOU ARE CRAZY!

7 Star made 2 transport for this customer and always an excellent service. Unfortunately, the carrier who picked up this last vehicle had a major problem and several vehicles were held midway. Worst of all, the carrier never informed 7 Star of the delay only the customer. But when the delay was 3 days behind, MJ called 7 Star and immediately supervisor Mike took care of problem. It took 3 days to get carrier to send a new truck and make delivery. Delay was totally out of 7 Star control.
