I have never posted a negative review before, but would like to warn others away from our experience. The company people at GetitDone are nice - but never sent us the information promised and were very very hard to reach.

If you are considering having a car shipped across the country, please think it over carefully. Given what we know we would not ship a car again.

We sent this car across the country to our son. I checked into companies as carefully as I could. This company was courteous and prompt .....until I actually signed up.

The original estimate of $1050 went up $200 immediately because the trucker was going to have to make a special trip from about 4-5 hours south to get our car. I spoke to Dave and eventually agreed. But the car was actually picked up by a trucker a few hours NORTH who was already in the area delivering another car. Oh well.

The car was delivered on time but was damaged. The damage that occurred was not readily visible - the back visor on the rear hatch must have caught on something in transit and had entirely ripped out a hole in the metal on one side and was half ripped on the other - but held enough that it wasn't visible until our son drove the car. Then it rattled horribly and whistled. Once he located the source of the rattling and airflow, he had to remove the back visor leaving a 3" hole in the metal with electric wiring exposed where it had been torn from one side and tears on the other side where it had been attached.

In the midst of trying to start a new job after graduation and move into a new place in an area that is new to him, he has had to be running around getting estimates for repairs - the least being $1800 - and worrying about rain getting into the wiring.

Somehow the radio was also broken on the way across the country. ?!?

After multiple calls and emails over days (getting mostly answering machines), I talked to Maria and to Dave. They both promised to send insurance information which they said they should have sent previously Dave did say that he wasn't "hopeful" about what the insurance company would do...but that we should try and it would be "handled". We could have tried the insurance if we had ever gotten the information!! We have photo documentation and a statement from our son. We have heard nothing back from GetitDone except promises when we contact them and honestly don't have the time or mental energy to keep following them up when it looks like we are getting the run around.

In the last email, they promised to "take care of it" ....but to all potential customers, just be warned that they don't actually take care of anything.

Our son is just starting out and very tight financially and we shipped him the car as a "starting" up gift to him... he does not have the funds to be doing repairs.

We would be happy if Dave would see his way through to helping us out and taking some responsibility even at this point...but for now, this is our experience with this company and we cannot recommend them.

Thiis is the first we heard of this; This is under review by the owner. As you see in our PLUS 600 reviews we have not 1 claim of damage not being resolved or a complaint of a price increase, this is not how we do business, we GUARANTEE our rates and only use drivers fully insured with no deductible. With a TOTAL of 16 negative reviews out of 800 cars a month being shipped and 600 plus reviews, it shows we go above and beyond for each client. Check any review site and the better business bureau NOT 1 complaint of this nature. Thank you Dave Pein 888-325-1899
