Needed to ship a car to my daughter from San Diego to outside Boston. Car was picked up on time, by shipper who was bonded and licensed. The transport of the car went well, and there was no damage or loss of items in the car. The best thing about this experience was that when the shipper reached the Boston area he called me and I told him where my daughter was living. It wasn't close to his location but he went out of his way to take the car within 2 miles of where she was located. He delivered the car to her in a public location that was easy for her to access. The only negative experience was that when I originally contacted Mercury (three weeks before car needed to be transported) I was given a quote of $750. They finally found a transport service about 3 days before the car had to leave, and suddenly the price went up to $950. I paid it because by that time I had no other options. I will say, however, that $950 was about the medium quote I received from the 5 or so shipper agents I talked to. The first guy I worked with at Mercury was not very communicative (I guess he was fired at some point) but the second guy I worked with, Jim Gozde, was very good. And as I said, in the end, everything turned out fine.
