I called companies on transport reviews, as well as BBB, and found prices ranging from 700 to near 950 from at least 15 different transporter brokers. Graham quoted me 795 and they were based in Anaheim, which was where I was going so I decided to go ahead. They put up my listing for carriers to pick up at 545, which would give them a 250 dollar payment. Once Orgil Inc, the carrier, had dispatched a driver to pick me up, I was dealing directly with the driver. As for the broker side, Amerifreight was prompt and responsive. Not only was Graham responsive, but all of his colleagues in his office. There's also no deposit paid (avoid any company that charges you one). I only paid the broker once the job was taken by a carrier. After 3 days of putting up my car, a carrier took it. Delivered in 3 days without a hitch. They were careful with loading (I stayed the entire time). Overall, Orgil runs from Illinois to Califonia every week with various drivers and the route is typically very popular, so it should not be hard to find carriers to take the job. I did not know that until the driver explained. So, I docked amerifreight for their lack of transparency, but overall the price was competitive, beating many of the other companies. Also, Graham called for follow up and definitely seems to work hard. I have already told my friends who are moving of my experience and to give Amerifreight a call just to compare. Overall though, it is with a cautious recommendation because of the initial lack of transparency, and I urge everyone to have delicate meticulousness when transporting your car.
