Damage to vehicle

This company was highly recommended by the seller of a 1965 Imperial that I bought in California. Certified Auto Shippers hooked me up with a company, Star Auto Express, who handled the transport of this vehicle from California to Dallas, Texas. I went with their recomendation based on the recomendation of the seller and the fact that I had no prior good experience with any transport company. Star Auto Express delivered the car, on time, but the antenna was broken in transport and I had to have it repaired at a cost of $255.10. Neither Star, who is actually responsible, nor Certified Auto Shippers, is willing to pay for the damage to my vehicle and I am being forced to take the issue to small claims court. Had I googled Star prior to accepting Certified's recommendation, I would have seen the negative reviews others have written about this company. I am suprised that Certified Auto Shippers used Star to ship my vehicle and question their judgement now that I have had experience with Star, and have seen the negative reviews left by others for this company.

Dear Mr Brown, We certainly appreciate your review but must point out in this case that our carrier is not responsible for mechanical failures. The fact that your automatic antenna would not work is beyond the responsibility of the carrier since just the motion of transport could cause a component or wire to disconnect or become loose. Other than the antenna, the vehicle arrived is perfect condition. It was my pleasure to assist you. Sincerely, Kathy Gant
