I wanted to take a minute to share my experience with The Auto Transport Group (good experience) - and with the company I initially contracted to move my vehicle (terrible experience).

I am completely satisfied with The Auto Transport Group. They did an excellent job, everything was well communicated, and on-time. I moved a 2010 Toyota Highlander from NC to CA. Cost was $1,400 (more on that later).

I initially found another vendor on-line. Upon clicking that I was interested, I was contacted immediately by this vendor with multiple emails and phone calls from multiple people. That should have been a red flag, but at the time, I thought they were simply interested in doing the work. This vendor was not the cheapest, and quoted me $1,050 (which admittedly was at the low end).

Before confirming the reservation with the vendor, I had multiple emails and phone calls with the representative, Mark. My key point to this representative was that I needed the car picked up within a one week window (and I gave an additional one week notice). This is well documented in emails that I sent to Mark, but he only gave me verbal confirmation - and now I understand why.

Anyway, to make a long story short, the car was not picked up on-time, and when I tried to go back to Mark to ask when the car would be picked up, he was quite curt with me (before the order was placed he was very polite and professional) and shoved me off to a customer service representative. I left 3 or 4 messages with the customer representative - before they finally called me back about 5 days later (keep in mind the car has been sitting for a week while I waited to hear back). When the customer service person finally called me back, they asked if I still needed the service. I was dumbfounded - I had gone out of my way to clearly communicate my needs, and this company did not even have a truck scheduled for pick up, and could not even give me a date. That is when I cancelled my order.

I then called the Auto Transport Group - and talked with Preet. He quoted me $1,400 (as opposed to $1,050) but just by speaking with Preet I could tell he was much more honest, and I thought would be more professional. Bottom line is I got what I paid for - good service, good communication, and my car moved on-time.

In closing, I am planning to use ATG again. And, if anyone is interested in the company that had the terrible service, I can provide that separately. I am not out to bash anyone, but that initial company was so bad, I have no problem warning other un-suspecting consumers. As Preet from ATG told me, some companies give the Auto Moving industry a bad name.
