You probably got a competitive quote from these guys and you ask yourself why shouldn't you just give them a chance... Please Don't! I contacted 1 World Auto Movers to ship a vehicle to Luanda, Angola back in February 2010. The quote was attractive, so I disregarded the reviews on this site... Big Mistake!
First, Rich Lawson has no clue what he's doing... he convinced me the import license/inspection I needed was not required, then said I needed one after the vehicle was on the ship on its way to Angola. My vehicle got to Angola in the first week of April and was stuck at the port till the last week of May because of lack of the documentation Rich Lawson told me I didn't need. After I was billed (after the ship sailed), there was ZERO communication from 1 World. I would call and email 3 to 5 times before I will receive even an email on where my vehicle was and what they were doing about it, at times going for 10 days without getting an update despite my calls and emails. Here's Rich's response to one of my emails: "THIS IS WHAT YOUR GOV’T REQUIRED. NOT US. IF YOU WANT TO BLAME SOMEONE BLAME YOUR GOV’T"... that's right, all caps too!
I was not told when my vehicle shipped nor when it got there... I had to call the forwarding agent, the shipper, etc. to find out where the car was and what was needed to move it on. The Manager, Ryan Talaba, told me in a phone conversation that he would 'make right' all penalties and fees, but did not respond to my email or voicemail when I told him what the fees were. They change their extensions among each other depending on the circumstances to avoid your calls, so at times extension 100 goes to Ryan Talaba, and then when you call and leave a message, the next time you call, the same extension goes to Miranda Carmichael or even Rich Lawson. I actually got the Attorney General's office involved and even considered legal action. If anyone living in Florida is conisdering some kind of legal action, please let me know and we can pool resources against these pranksters! Word to the wise... that great quote is not worth all the headache these guys will give you... move on and look for a reliable company that knows what they're doing!
By the way, I had a negative review on here before on 1 World while going through this ordeal, but R. Lawson said the only way he will help me was if I took it off... this is after I got charged! Sounds unreal?... I have the documentation to prove it! This Company is worthless!!!!!
