| An Odd-sized and Unique Shipment found a Great Carrier |
Mercury did a great job in transporting a portable dance floor from Illinois to Florida. The shipment was challenging because the items were contained and tied on a 6 wheel cart, had multiple components, was very heavy at 700 pounds, required a lift, etc. I had contacted several shipping companies, including UPS and local trucking and moving companies. Nobody wanted to handle this within the budget I had and within the tight frame I needed, and without the extra expense of crating. It occurred to me to contact a car shipper, and I found Mercury.
Mercury was more than happy to attempt to handle shipping this odd piece and got it to me on time, and with a great price, and the items arrived in perfect condition. Communications with the company were always honest and straightforward. There was a slight delay due to a small miscommunication with staff about my setting of the offer price for the drivers to bid on, at I think $350 plus Mercury's fee. In trying to get me the best price, Mercury had set the offer for the shipment on the lower side. Once I was informed of the offer price, I realized we probably weren't getting a driver lined up fast enough to meet my deadline. So I simply raised my offer to an acceptable standard at $600 which is what I expected to pay based on past trucking experience for this weight...and we found a driver almost immediately.
The goods were picked up from the vendor in a professional manner, I believe same day of the accepted offer and the cart arrived in Florida a few days later. Drivers always kept in touch with me from the road, and they were on time and friendly upon delivery.
I would hire Mercury again without any hesitation.
