This company was contracted through a third party agent to ship a 52 MG convertible roadster. They were terrible! The dispatch didn't communicate vital information to the driver. The truck broke down in CHicago one day before my scheduled pick up in Northern California. There is no way the driver could have made my pick up date which was set in order to have a receiver in Virginia before Jul 7th. My agent demanded that Ambela store my car at their expense because they blew the pick up date. We rescheduled pick up for the 3rd or 4th of July. I was provided with both the dispath and the driver's numbers to call. I called dispatch on July 3rd but got no answer. When I then called the driver he was unaware of my pick up. And he was in Southern California with three other cars to pick up as he moved up the coast. He called me on the 4th to relay that he had just received a text of my pick up but dispathc wasn't available to help him find one of his other pick ups. Dispatch closed done for the Fourth of July holiday leaving the driver with no ability to contact anyone. It was Monday night before my pick up was arranged and only in talking to the driver did he learn that Ambela was supposed to store my car. He was shocked because he would have to pay for that himself. He was on his last job with AMbela and was not happy. I had to arrange for his COD payment and offloading of my car with a neighbor. From beginning to end Ambela had made promises to my agent that they couldn't or wouldn't keep. They screwed with me and with their own driver. I have relayed my story to my agent whose company will pass the word not to use Ambela for any reason. I paid $1100 for this shipment but the driver would have gotten next to nothing if we hadn't figured out how to bypass the Ambela attempt to make the driver pay for storage. It was a horrible situation from beginning to end. Do not use this company! I am a retired Air Force officer and do not rate companies poorly unless truly deserved!! Ambela has major integrity and performance problems. They are NOT recommended.
