After searching this site and receiving calls and emails from other companies I decided to go with Gold Star and I'm glad that I did!!
The first company that called wanted to offer me a Gas or Grocery card if i chose them. But i didnt want any gimmicks (Buying $100 worth of Gas to receive your $25 Gas voucher, and doing that multiple times to eventually receive your $500 worth of Gas) i just needed and wanted to have my car moved before I relocated. I contacted GS after reading their reviews here. I asked questions and was cordially greeted and respected by Bruce who understood my concerns and situation, on top of that, my car was not a "NORMAL" transport, its a 1968 totally restored Fiat 500 with a very narrow wheel base. Bruce made note of that for the carrier.
A few days before my move when I hadn't gotten a confirmation I called and spoke to the owner. He assured me that everything would be fine and that they would (are) doing everything possible to secure a carrier for me. I did receive a call back from Bruce and he explained what the problem was. Although I had to pay a smaller higher fee to move my vehicle, GS lowered their deposit price!
The company chosen was more than wonderful!! The Driver "Dennis" was truly a professional!! He not only figured out the best way of getting my small car on the carrier which took about 2 hours, but he was determined not to leave me or my car stranded. Although my car left a day before I did, I was scheduled to be at my new location a few hours after the car was delivered. I actually made it about 2 hours after, i did not have anyone at my receiving end that could have picked the car up for me nearby, so Dennis drove my car to my garage. My housing development was large enough for him to deliver it to my door. The car was in perfect condition as I had shipped it.
After 20 years of military service and multiple moves (including an overseas and Hawaii move) this was by far my best moving experience for any of my vehicles that I've had! For those that are reading this, I would truly suggest that you consider GS.
