| Exactly as I'd hoped |
I contacted GL after agreeing to purchase a car from a dealer in Florida for shipment to Maine. In a couple of days, he had a carrier, A.J. Dalbec and sent me his contact information. I contacted A.J. and gave him the contact details for the dealer. Everything was set until the dealer contacted me to say that after driving the car for the weekend, he'd decided to have some diagnostic work done on it for a slight stutter at idle. He thought he'd have it back in time for the pickup the next day, but he wasn't certain. I contacted Mr. Dalbec to let him know so that he could arrange another car if he wanted to, but he was willing to wait until the end of the day Wednesday. Everyting turned out fine. I was just impressed that he was willing to give me a little time. The car was picked up a few hours early and arrived around 6:00 the day he told me it would be here.
Good people all around on this one. Everyone doing his job. The car was a 1992 Toyota Corolla that I was buying for a family friend who is 96 and ready to quit driving to church only because her old Toyota was too rusty to get inspected. She was wisely nervous about making a mistake with a new car (although she is an excellent driver and still works as a seamstress, which I still find amazing). So we found her a car just like her old one, except with no rust, and she is thrilled. I was very uneasy about this whole long distance purchasing process, but it went off without a hitch, particularly the transport.
I got the name of G and L from this site, and I'm really glas I did.
