Subject: Poor Customer Serivice
Review:The poor rating has to do with this companies Customer Service. You can find hundreds of shipping companies to transport your car... why bother with one that treats you like crap.

Shipped on time. Transporter they used was friendly. HOWEVER, there was a large stone chip on my exotic Italian car that should have been taken care of. My PPI gave all my glass an "excellent" rating... but that was not the case when I took delivery. When I approached the customer service department, they called me a "liar" and would not offer any compensation. I ship frequently and they will never see my business again. If you want a headache (in my case from some misleading internet advertising), then by all means use Texas Auto Transport. If you don't then use Angels Moving Autos or Hilton Transport companies. They have far superior customer service, as most of these companies share transport trucks.

Again, there is no "next step."

(1) windshields are NOT covered on open shipments

(2) the pit is clearly marked on the ORIGINAL BILL OF LADING BEFORE THE SHIPMENTXXXBEFORE THE DRIVER TOOK POSESSION OF THE CAR

(3) you didn't mark any "new" damage on the bol. (which there wasn't any)

You bought a 6 year old car that will have normal wear and tear (including rock chips) on it. You didn't buy a new car. My driver didn't damage your vehicle. There is no claim for this. Even if the rock chip happened while in transit, it's NOT COVERED. Nothing that could result from normal driving (rock chips & windshield) are covered. If you wanted that assurance you should have booked it to ride in an enclosed trailer. Again, there is no insurance claim for this. It does't exist on open carriers. Period. Our carrier did a good job for you and didn't damage your vehicle.

You need not get ugly. You have insuinuated that I am telling an untruth.

1. This is a new chip.... the BOL did NOT indicate this chip and I have pictures to prove it.

2. Your advertisement is misleading.... indicating that you are insured against damages. You probably should word this on the internet that it is exclusive of windshield damage,

3. I have no beef with Ken, he was polite and I am sure he did his best.

4. The option of closed transport was never given to me by Straightline. They booked an Italian exotic car in an open truck (?), I can see doing that with a Honda Accord.... but not an expensive sport scar.

5. Why carry insurance if you can't cover damages (more comprehensively)?

6. I refuse to waste my time e-mailing you pictures, as I see this is a DEAD END.

7. Check out http://www.transportreviews.com for the latest review by ME on YOUR company. The internet has a way of being a great equalizer. FYI... I often have cars shipped and spoke with Will about a 1971 Alfa Romeo restored over 2 years coming to me this month from California (was intending to ship closed with you guys....)... Guess Again.

8. I can understand your policies... but calling a customer a "liar" is just not good business practice. What would have kept my business was possibly a 10% discount on my next shipment. Maybe next time you will use that strategy to keep customers happy. Just some friendly advice from someone who deals with customer service on a daily basis.

First and foremost, I never called him a liar. Please read my email again. That particular email was the 5th one and obviously he still doesn't understand a thing.

The original BOL clearly has the pit in the windshield marked. This was damage that happened before our carrier picked up the car. I'd love to see the look on the claims adjuster or the underwriter at the Insurance Company when this floats across the desk.

I have copies of all BOL's and this guy is just trying to cheat the system. He is under the illusion that $35k 2002 Maserati is a brand new automobile. I'm sorry it is not. Our company isn't in the business of making used cars new again.

We are a wonderful company that provides top quality shipments all over the world. We have over 300 dealerships and thousands of happy customers. We do a great job. We honor true damage claims. Bottom line is we do the job the best it can be.
