Undamaged Delivery, Problems Before Pickup

Let me begin by saying that my vehicle was delivered both on time and in great shape. That is the ultimate goal of any car shipment process, and in that regard both the shipping broker and the shipper succeeded. But, I have a difficult time issuing a stellar review for agencies who were only able to perform as promised. Stellar reviews are reserved for stellar performers. Here, I will review Amerifreight.
Amerifreight was NOT able to ship my vehicle on time at the price they first estimated. Lesson learned: read the fine print. Their estimate is not in any way associated with the fee they think they'll be able to ship your car for - it's a classic bait and switch. They quote you an initial price that is lower than competitors in order to reel you in, then after you've committed to them and provided your payment information, they break the bad news to you that it will cost several hundred more dollars to actually ship your vehicle on the desired transportation date (if at all).
Amerifreight will fire their employees and not affirmatively contact you to tell you that your agent no longer works there. It took me days of calling and leaving messages to finally realize that I should call the main number and complain...only to find out that my original agent had been fired. Had I not contacted them, I'd have been left hanging.
Amerifreight intercedes on your behalf with the ultimate shipper, but only at the margins. They liaised on my behalf regarding some pickup difficulties, but put me on the spot and demanded an answer from me on very short notice ( late in the afternoon the day before: "we have a shipper for your desired date, tomorrow morning!") They also liaised with the shipper to secure delivery to my desired destination vice a random Wal Mart 30 minutes away, as the shipper wanted.
Once the business with the fired agent was cleared up, my lead agent WAS responsive, and did provide help. My overall complaint is with the transparency of the original quote...this company specializes in FINE PRINT rules, which results in the customer feeling like he or she is scammed. My car made it, but not for the price I thought it would.
