This is the first car I have ever shipped, so I began doing alot research. Very few companies (brokers) will give you the honest truth. I spoke to at least 10 brokers and researched another 20 or so from multiple sources (BBB, this site and other web based and information sources). At the end of the day the only one I could find that did not have a negative comment, and would call me back or answer the phone, was Ultimate Auto Shipping. Please be very careful of brokers who have not been in business for more than a year, often they have just changed their name.
I beleive Pat is at the top of a VERY short list for brokers who will honestly explain the process, the purpose of the broker, the relationship of the broker to the client and to the hired hauling service. Pat is accessable, offers great customer service, screens the carriers he does business with, and will tell what he can accomplish as a broker and what he cannot.
My new 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, was delivered on time and in perfect condition. It was dirty, to be expected from an open carrier transport. I did choose to add gap insurance, which was not needed, but recommended by Pat. Normally, I do not ever add this type of insurance, but after reading some of the horror stories about auto shipping, I decided to everything I could to protect my vehicle. A few blogs also recommended the insurance as well.
This is a crazy industry, thiat is not regulated very well. Brokers will take advantage of you by offering low rates and then raising the rates once your non-refundable deposit has been received. Pat will not process a deposit until a transport has been found and a price has been agreed to.
I beleive Ultimate Auto Shipping was the right choice. Pat found a reputable carrier for the agreed to price, picked up my car on time and it was delivered one day early.
Simply a great experience!! I will use Ultimate Auto Shipping again!!
