Are these good reviews for real?!!!
US Canada Auto Transport is the same as AA Auto Transport, which their reviews can be found here:http://www.yelp.com/biz/aa-auto-transport-inc-san-diego
This is one of the worst and least knowledgeable companies I have ever dealt with.
They also charge extra if you pay with debit or visa.
So please STAY AWAY and find another company for your car shipment!
I contacted them in February 2015, inquiring about moving my car from Canada to US, they gave me a quote and said to contact them 2-3 weeks before I want my car picked up.
I contacted them the first week of April telling them I wanted our car picked up beginning of May, before our move which was on May 5th. I also wanted to receive the car in US, as soon as possible. They sent me the paper work, which I filled up and sent to them on April 15th.
I did not hear back from them and followed up after 3 days and reminded her that we need the car picked up early May. Most replies took few days and required follow ups on my end. After 2 days I was asked to give a window of 1 week for car pick up, so I gave April 27th-May 3rd.
I also asked if all the documents I sent them were fine and mentioned that I had read on forums that we would need a compliance letter for our car which she had never mentioned it to us.
The reply was that the compliance letter is "only needed if I am moving to US permanently and since I don't plan to move the car to US permanently I don't need one!" I was shocked, since I had never told her that we were not moving to US permanently and after talking to her she said "Oh, I confused you with someone else"!!!! No apologies or anything! She had confused me with someone else and forgotten to mention I need more documentations!
So were told to contact our car manufacturer and ask for a compliance letter which I was told will take 7-10 business days.
Only if these people had told me that I need a compliance letter, I would have requested it earlier so my shipment would not be delayed! At least I told them we need one!
On April 29th I received the compliance letter and sent it to AA Auto and asked what the next step is.
On May 4th I was told that they have all the required documents and the shipment will be scheduled. Then a day later I got another email with customs forms attached to be signed and sent back. That was our move date, so we were very busy and stressed out. Even though I had started the process weeks in advance in the hope of not having things done the last minute, I was printing, signing and sending back forms on our move date.
We were then told the car will be picked up on May 6th or 7th. Then it was changed to 8th-12th and finally picked up on May 15th. We were told it will take 10-14 days for the car to arrive.
After 4 days I receive a call from their accounting department that the car is arriving on May 25th (which was in 6 days) and that they should receive our cheque by or on 22nd so our shipment is not delayed. So I sent a cheque requesting that they would receive it on 22nd afternoon.
Then we receive a call the day after that the car is arriving on Thursday May 21st and if they don't receive our payment by 22nd morning, our car will be towed and we have to pay to receive it!
I was furious! First we were told that our car will arrive 25th-29th, so we thought we had enough time to send out the cheque, then were told it is arriving on 25th and then it was changed to 21st, which was after 6 days not 10-14 days. I was trilled that the car is arriving sooner than expected but was nice to be told ahead of time so the payment would be sent to them on time.
We finally got the car on 22nd and there were a big scratch on the passenger's side of the car which was not there before but I knew dealing with AA will not take me anywhere, so I let it go.
I went to DMV to get our car registered and was told that we need our car's customs form, which we were not given any information about.
So I contacted AA Auto transport and was told that customs sends them out (WRONG INFO) and I should wait another week for it.
After 1 month of not receiving anything, I checked and noticed our address that they had put in the customs form was missing our unit number, which was the reason for not receiving them.
I contacted AA Auto again and was sent a copy they had after 3 days!
I took that to DMV and was told the copy is different than the original one, since it was not stamped!
So I called them again and was told that I had to pay $35 for the broker to go to the boarder and get another customs form! Really?!!!
I knew there had to be another way. So I contacted customs and was transferred to many different places and after 1.5 hours Ion the phone was told by customs that the forms are stamped and given to the broker and never mailed by customs!!!
So I contacted the broker that AA works with and they emailed me the customs form with the stamp in few minutes!!!
So I finally I can go to DMV for the 3rd time and hopefully get our car registered!
