Terrible Experience

Booked through U Ship, my first mistake. Guys at Tropical tell me they can't do a Monday pickup but have a guy that can do Saturday, i say this is not ideal but will make it work. They tell me driver will call me Friday or Saturday about arrival time. By 4pm on Saturday i have no call from anyone, so i call dispatch, they act surprised driver hasn't called and tell me they will have him call. He does, is very gruff and unpleasant and says he is 6 hours away in Houston and will be therein 6 hours, 10pm. I leave a going away party early to deal with the guy, 10pm rolls around with no response to a text requesting status of arrival to driver. At 1030pm i call the driver who takes a while to answer and then answers very gruffly as though drunk or as if he was in deep sleep. He is disoriented and has no idea who i am until i explain in detail and then he says "i pick up tomorrow, call me later." And hangs up with no opportunity for me to speak or ask questions. I immediately call Temo and Tropical dispatch, leave messages with no answer. As i had been told by both driver and dispatches that Saturday was pick up and had rearranged all of my plans, i would expect the least would be to communicate if this was not going to happen. I am left without word until late in the morning today that the driver says he will be there at noon. As i am relocating and had already shifted my schedule, i was already on my way to Massachusetts.

I finally got a hold of Temo dispatch who apologized and basically said the driver was going AWOL because he had his truck stolen and had no insurance on it and all kinds of craziness. Feel bad for the guy but not sure what that has to do with me or my car. And who would hand over a $35k car to someone that behaves like this?
