I am writing this review so that anyone who is thinking about doing business with Chris Helbing and TransNation will avoid the stress and aggravation that I experienced when Chris failed to live up to his contractual obligations to arrange transportation of our car from Florida to the northeast in early May. This company supposedly has a 5 Star rating which is hard to believe. I signed a contract with Chris in early April to have our car transported north for the summer. I paid a $150 deposit, fortunately with a credit card, which is undoubtedly his fee for finding a truck to transport the car. He committed to have the car picked up on May 8th. I didn’t hear a thing from him after the contract, so I attempted to contact him the day before the scheduled pickup. After several attempts, he finally picked up the call and assured me that a truck was coming and that he would get back to me with the specifics. I never heard from him again. We had flight reservations and had other arrangements to travel north so we were stuck in a pretty stressful situation. Fortunately, I was able to find someone to drive the car on short notice but at a much higher cost. Afterwards, I called and emailed Chris and demanded a full refund. He never answered and I never heard from him again. So I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge and received a refund of the $150 deposit. There is no excuse for any company to treat a paying customer the way TransNation treated me. So if you don’t want to get screwed like I did, don’t do business with Chris Helbing. Find a real car transport company that has a good reputation and their own fleet of trucks. Avoid brokers like Chris Helbing or you could find yourself in a bad situation like I did.
