We had a pretty terrible first time experience with Ship A Car Direct when shipping our car cross country Seattle to Maryland for our move. First, they quoted us $1400 but when it came time to pay, we owed the carrier $1200 and then there was a "deposit" of $300 for Ship A Car Direct. I don't know why it was $100 more than our initial quote - I didn't get an explanation, though after complaining, they said they would accepts $250 for the deposit. Second, I had to bend over backwards to try to contact both Ship A Car and our carrier the day of the pick up. I tried calling both Scott and the 24 hour service line multiple times with no answer. I also called our carrier, and the company's number for the day our car was supposed to be picked up, but again, no answer. It seemed very difficult to get in touch with anyone. Our car was picked up a day late on a Sunday. Before agreeing to this carrier, I stressed the importance of needing the car delivered by November 8th as nobody would be home to receive the car after that date. I was assured by both Scott and Polly from the carrier that it would arrive no later than November 8th. By November 7th, I texted our driver to make sure we were on schedule and of course he was delayed. We got on a phone call and I said there was no way for us to receive the car after the 8th as nobody would be home, and our driver Dean started verbally harassing me. He was extremely rude, misogynistic and unprofessional. I thought Ship A Car Direct vetted all of their carriers and only selected the "best of the best"? To end this saga, our car ended up being dropped off in our driveway without our ability to inspect for damages or sign off on the delivery. I would NEVER recommend Ship A Car, nor would I ever use the carrier Seahawk Logistics again in my life. So glad it's all over and done with. Buyer Beware.
