Worried at first but it all worked out!

I initially submitted my information and got a quote the same day. This was about 1.5 months away from my move date because I wanted to have plenty of time to find a carrier. The original date of pickup was supposed to be Wednesday May 6th but Ship-a-Car had trouble finding a carrier to accept the original quote terms. This had me stressed big time but after about 1.5 days David was able to secure a carrier that could drop off to Roswell, GA instead of Columbus, GA. With the later pickup date the Roswell location was closer to where we were going to be on the drop-off date so that worked out (or so we though). The carrier picked up the van on Saturday May 9th and said he would have it in Roswell, GA by Saturday May 16th which is what we agreed to. However, the carriers orders changed some and he ended up needing to pick up 2 cars in Columbus and could have our car there on Thursday May 14th. This fell in line with our original quote and destination as my wife was staying with the kids in Columbus at that time while I drove a UHAUL cross country.

Needless to say even though our quote was off by $200, they made up for it by hitting our original destination and drop-off date.

Thanks for your positive feedback, Chris! You bring up a really good point about scheduling - there are no set schedules, even when you give a months notice. Transport routes are unique and fluid, they change from week to week. They can't be locked down in advance but they are set within a day or two of your pick-up date from the pool of carriers available at that time.
